Howdy my name is Ryan Husid. I interned at Lower Colorado River Authority as a parks assistant.

The Lower Colorado River authority was created in 1934 by the legislature to manage the wild and untamed Colorado River. After which they created 6 dams along the Colorado River to assist Austin and neighboring communities.  LCRA serves the people of Texas by providing electricity, transmission lines, and water management including flood control and water quality, drinking water to millions, outdoor recreation areas and environmental education. LCRA retains most of its profit from producing and generating electricity. The parks department is associated with LCRA’s community service organization.
“Create a self- sustaining park system that provides dynamic, diverse and safe recreational experiences while conserving natural and cultural resources”.
